| ------ COLOR MANAGEMENT
|| THE CRITICAL LINK

<----Because of the significant differences between operating systems and the way each handles the monitor gamma issue (Macs use a 1.5 setting and PCs use 2.0), those creating Internet-based files on each must be aware of these appearance differences and produce files best suited for their projected audience.

<--- Compounding this color challenge is the fact that each software program on a given OS uses color models sometimes varies significantly as to specific colors. That is... a color selected in Photoshop may differ in definition from the same color found in InDesign, Illustrator, FreeHand, or QuarkXPress.

<----As if that's weren't enough of a headache, a color found in a photograph processed in Photoshop and converted to (some) CMYK will differ from a color created in another application in RGB.
