<----The mantra of the electronic publishing movement is that all files should be converted to CMYK prior to submission to the printer. My opinion... not so! Until it is determined which printing process and paper will be used in the printing process NO files should be converted to CMYK. Why? Because no one CMYK conversion formula can meet the printing capabilities of all processes and by re-mapping colors between color spaces definitely alters the colors.
<----Neither should digital images be converted to CMYK directly in Photoshop unless the printing process has been determined. By introducing CMYK image files into page design software using an RGB working color space is asking for color matching problems. ALL files should be converted to a CMYK color space at the same time.
