------There is more to preparing an image for print than just making it look pretty on the monitor. Preparing images for ink-on-paper is quite different from preparing them for output on either an inkjet or the Internet. Even images prepared for print vary in specification with the printing process to be used.
------If an accurate color managed workflow is in place, including specific output profiles for each device and paper, then the image preparation process becomes much more defined. But even output profiles don’t guarantee results unless the original image meets certain controls are in place and standards are met.
------Imaging 201- In preparing images for print, three main areas must be addressed: midtone placement, shadow definition, and highlight detail. When these three areas are appropriately “optimized,” then the images will be ready for the next step.
